THE ROADMAP

Your 15-Minute Setup Guide

1

Choose Your Bot Type

2 min

Before anything else, you need to understand what type of bot fits your situation.

CEX Bots (recommended for beginners)

  • Connect to exchanges like Binance or Bybit via API.
  • Run DCA or Grid strategies automatically.
  • Your funds stay on the exchange, the bot only trades.
  • Minimum capital: ~$300

Telegram Bots (advanced)

  • Execute directly on-chain via your wallet.
  • Higher risk, only consider after you understand CEX bots.

⚡ Quick decision: If you're new to automation, choose a CEX bot. Pionex is free and requires no API setup.

Create Your Exchange Account

3 min

If you don't have an exchange account yet, you need one before connecting any bot.

Recommended exchanges:

  • Binance — largest liquidity
  • Bybit — clean interface
  • OKX — strong bot ecosystem

What to do:

  1. Create your account and complete KYC verification
  2. Deposit your starting capital (minimum $100-300)
  3. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) – mandatory

Note: KYC verification can take 10 minutes to 24 hours depending on the exchange. Complete this first if you haven't already.

3

Generate Your API Keys (Safely)

3 min

API keys let a bot trade on your behalf without accessing your funds directly. This is the most important security step.

How to create API keys on Binance:

  1. Go to Account → API Management
  2. Click 'Create API' and name it (e.g. '3Commas-Bot')
  3. Enable: ✓ Read Info ✓ Enable Spot Trading
  4. Disable: ✗ Enable Withdrawals – NEVER enable this
  5. Restrict access to trusted IPs if your bot provider gives you one
  6. Copy and save both keys (API Key + Secret Key)

🔒 Critical rule: Never enable withdrawal permissions on any API key you give to a bot. The bot should only be able to trade, not move your funds to another address.

4

Connect to Your Bot Platform

4 min

Now connect your exchange account to the bot platform using the API keys you just created.

Using 3Commas as an example:

  1. Create a free account at 3Commas
  2. Go to My Exchanges → Add Exchange
  3. Select Binance and paste your API Key + Secret Key
  4. Click Connect. The platform will verify the connection
  5. You should see your balance appear in the dashboard

💡 Alternative: If you chose Pionex, skip this step entirely. Pionex is both the exchange and the bot. No API connection needed. Create an account and go directly to Step 5.

5

Configure and Launch Your First Strategy

3 min

You’re ready to activate your first bot. Start simple, don’t overcomplicate your first setup.

Recommended first strategy: DCA Bot

What it does: Buys your chosen asset in regular intervals, averaging your entry price over time.

Best for: Bitcoin or Ethereum & liquid assets (big caps).

Risk level: Low-Medium

Starter Settings:
  • Asset BTC/USDT
  • Investment $100-200
  • Buy interval 6 hours
  • Take profit 10%

What not to do on your first bot:

  • Don't start with low-cap altcoins
  • Don't invest more than you're comfortable losing
  • Don’t run 5 bots simultaneously, start with one

✅ Once activated, your bot will run 24/7 automatically. Check back after 48 hours to review its first trades. Resist the urge to modify settings in the first week.
